He has taken certain bad channels out which does not make much of a difference. More importantly you will lose the chips that, for whatever reason, have a spike in the 1st bin. To get these back you must exclude this bin. -Matt Hi John, This is what you would do if you wanted to get good pedestal calibrations for the pads. checkout and privately compile the mvd package and the version of preco with the tag run03_02_br_03 (not sure if the tagged version is necessary) You would then replace /offline/framework/mvdfuncs.C with /phenix/workarea/manguyen/AllCode/mvd/src/offline/framework/preco/mvdfuncs.C.2 and replace MvdDcms.cc and MvdCalibrator.cc with the files of the same name in: /phenix/workarea/manguyen/AllCode/mvd/src/offline/packages/mvd Make sure you have the mvdmap and deadchannel ascii files and run /phenix/workarea/manguyen/AllCode/mvd/wrk/78210/0/sampleMacro_0.C This will produces a calibration file called MvdCalib.(run).(1st event).0 and a .proot file with a historam for each chip. -Matt ------------------------------------------------- Matthew Nguyen Department of Physics and Astronomy State University of New York at Stony Brook Stony Brook, NY 11794-3800 (631) 632-9007 -------------------------------------------------
